Does SnipTray work without iCloud?
Yes. SnipTray works as a local clipboard manager on a single Mac with no account required. iCloud is only needed if you want clips to move between your Mac and your iPhone — you can turn sync off in settings at any time.
What can sync between devices?
Plain text, rich text, images, files, links and snippets all sync. Each clip is encrypted locally before it's uploaded, so only your signed-in devices can decrypt it — Apple stores the ciphertext and nothing more.
How is this different from Apple's Universal Clipboard?
Universal Clipboard only holds the single latest item and clears itself after a couple of minutes. SnipTray keeps your full history, works across any number of your Apple devices, supports rich content, and adds categories, snippets and one-keystroke text transforms on top.
Does it work with password managers?
Yes — and it knows to stay out of their way. SnipTray detects 1Password, Bitwarden, Apple Keychain and similar apps, and anything you copy from them is filtered out of your history and never synced.
Is there a free version?
Every new install gets a 3-day free trial with all features unlocked. After that you can pick Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime — or keep using the app in a trimmed local-only mode.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through the Mac App Store. Open System Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Subscriptions, pick SnipTray and hit Cancel. Your data stays on your Mac — you just lose sync and the Pro features.
