Terms of Use
Last updated: April 11, 2026
Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing, or using SnipTray ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use the App. SnipTray is published by ClickWebStudio ("we", "us", "our").
What SnipTray is
SnipTray is a clipboard manager for Mac and iPhone that stores your clipboard history locally on your device and, with a SnipTray Pro subscription, syncs your text and URL clips across your own devices via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) using end-to-end encryption. See our Privacy Policy for the data details.
Your account and data
SnipTray does not have user accounts of its own. The only identity used by the App is your Apple ID, managed by Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID, your device passcode, and any iCloud Keychain credentials that protect your end-to-end encrypted clips.
Subscriptions and billing
SnipTray Pro is sold by Apple via the App Store as an in-app purchase in three tiers:
- Monthly: $4.99 / month, auto-renewing
- Yearly: $49.99 / year, auto-renewing
- Lifetime: $99.99 one-time purchase
New monthly and yearly subscribers receive a 3-day free trial. After the trial ends, the subscription auto-renews at the price above unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
All billing, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple. We never see your payment information. To manage, change, or cancel your subscription, open the App Store on your device → tap your profile photo → Subscriptions → SnipTray. Refund requests should be made through reportaproblem.apple.com directly to Apple; we have no ability to issue refunds on Apple's behalf.
Acceptable use
You agree to use SnipTray only for lawful purposes and only in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:
- Use the App or its sync features to store, transmit, or share content that is illegal, infringes on third-party rights, or violates applicable law in your jurisdiction
- Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm another person, including by sharing categories with malicious intent
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law (e.g. interoperability rights granted by EU Directive 2009/24/EC)
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the App's password-manager exclusion, the entitlement check, or any other security or privacy mechanism
- Use the App to abuse Apple's CloudKit service, exceed quota limits intentionally, or interfere with other users' use of the service
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the App without our written permission
Shared categories
SnipTray Pro lets you share a category of clips with other people via an invite link. When you share a category:
- You are responsible for the content you put into the shared category and for who you invite to it
- Anyone you invite can view, add, or remove clips in the shared category as long as the share is active
- You can stop sharing at any time from the overlay's category context menu or from Preferences → Sync → Shared categories
- Stopping a share deletes the underlying CloudKit zone and removes the category for every participant
Service availability
SnipTray runs on Apple's iCloud infrastructure for sync. We do not operate servers and we cannot guarantee any specific uptime. Sync availability depends on Apple's services and on your network connection. SnipTray's local features (clipboard history, snippets, transforms) work offline and do not require an internet connection.
No warranty
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without any warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. You use the App at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will ClickWebStudio, its officers, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including without limitation loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — arising out of or related to your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from or related to the App is limited to the amount you paid for SnipTray in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $100, whichever is less.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access to SnipTray Pro features if you violate these terms or if Apple notifies us of a billing or fraud issue. Termination does not affect any liability already accrued.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The Last updated date at the top will reflect any change. Material changes will be announced in a release note for the next version of SnipTray. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the App will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in British Columbia, Canada, except where prohibited by applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
Apple App Store terms
If you obtained SnipTray from Apple's App Store, the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies in addition to these terms. In the event of a conflict, the more user-protective term controls.
