Grant accessibility permission

macOS asks every clipboard app for accessibility access so it can paste for you.

macOS requires accessibility permission before any app can paste on your behalf. SnipTray uses this permission for exactly one thing: pasting the snip you pick. It never reads keystrokes and never watches what you type in other apps.

Turn it on

1 When SnipTray prompts you, click Open System Settings. SnipTray takes you straight to the correct pane.
2 Under Privacy & Security → Accessibility, flip the toggle next to SnipTray on.
3 Return to SnipTray. Pasting now works everywhere.

Tip

If you skipped the prompt, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility yourself, then add or enable SnipTray in the list.

Note

Accessibility permission is only used to paste. It is not used to record your clipboard — that happens through the standard macOS pasteboard, which needs no special permission.
