How clipboard history works
Everything you copy is captured locally and shown newest-first in the tray.
Each time you copy, SnipTray captures the item and adds it to your history, newest first. Text, rich text, links, images, files, and color values are all recognized and previewed differently so you can tell them apart at a glance.
How much is kept
- Free: your most recent 25 snips on a single Mac.
- Pro, Lifetime, and Teams: unlimited history across every Mac, iPhone, and iPad on your Apple ID.
Where it lives
History is stored locally on your Mac. On paid plans it also syncs through your own private iCloud container. SnipTray has no servers of its own and never sees your snips.
Note
Copying the same thing twice does not create a duplicate — SnipTray moves the existing snip back to the top instead.
